This 2 day course takes place at Shrawley Village Hall, 7 miles from Droitwich and starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm

Flower painting can be uninspiring unless you instil into it the sheer passion and creativity that Georgia O'Keefe did. She had the ability to to give flowers a sensual power which was quite unique. This course explores her ideas and techniques and will have you looking at flowers in a very different way.

Course Outline includes:

  • Welcome and introduction
  • A look at the work of Georgia O'keefe
  • Drawing and painting demonstrations
  • A short session on colour theory and colour mixing
  • An introduction to the techniques of acrylic painting
  • How to create ideas for your paintings and compose them ready for painting
  • Painting your picture together with lots of motivating and informative advice
  • A plenary session, where each work will be considered individually by Paul who will offer expert commentary and advice

A light lunch plus is provided. MATERIALS ARE NOT PROVIDED on this course. Please bring your own Drawing and Painting materials. If you want Paul to supply all your materials please see Related Products below.

This course uses acrylic paint.

Suggested materials: A range of acrylic/oil brushes of various sizes and types e.g. Filbert No 5, Flat No 4, No 8, Round No 1 or No 2 and No 4. Colours: permanent rose, lemon yellow, ultramarine, titanium white, burnt umber, yellow ochre, cadmium yellow, possibly vermilion hue, permanent green and winsor blue. One acrylic painting pad minimum size A3, preferably 16 x 20 inches.
