This three day Starters' Painting and Drawing Course takes place at Shrawley Village Hall, just 4 miles from Stourbridge on Severn and starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm

'Want to learn how to draw and paint? This Starters' course follows on from the Taster Drawing and Painting Courses , although it is not essential that you have attended these courses. Paul covers all the basics of drawing and painting in an engaging and very supportive way. The aim of the course is for students to complete their painting on the last day, from initial ideas through to the final work of art. There will be lots of guidance and 'hand holding' in the first couple of days to get everyone up and running.

Course Outline includes:

• Welcome and introduction
• Drawing and painting demonstrations
• A short session on colour theory and colour mixing
• An introduction to the techniques of acrylic/oil and watercolour painting as necessary
  
• How to create ideas for your paintings and compose them ready for painting
• Painting your picture together with lots of motivating and informative advice
• A plenary session, where each work will be considered individually by Paul who will offer expert commentary and advice

A light lunch plus is provided. MATERIALS ARE NOT PROVIDED on this course. Please bring your own Drawing and Painting materials. If you want Paul to supply all your materials please see Related Products below.

This course uses acrylic paint, although if you wish to use other mediums such as oil or watercolour that can be accommodated.

Suggested materials: A range of acrylic/oil brushes of various sizes and types e.g. Filbert No 5, Flat No 4, No 8, Round No 1 or No 2 and No 4. Colours: permanent rose, lemon yellow, ultramarine, titanium white, burnt umber, yellow ochre, cadmium yellow, possibly vermilion hue, permanent green and winsor blue. One acrylic painting pad minimum size A3, preferably 16 x 20 inches.

Course suitable for Beginners and those with more experience
