This three day Plein Air Painting Course takes place at Leintwardine Community Centre, Herefordshire and starts at 10:00am and finishes at 4:00pm

Leintwardine is a beautiful village dating back to Roman Times that sits on the river Teme, with it's 14th century bridge and stunning views this is an ideal place to spend a few days painting. We shall explore the local area and paint some wonderful views.

If the weather is bad we shall use the facilities of the Leintwardine Community Centre which has been completely refurbished within the last year. We shall be painting outdoors so please bring something to sit on and a big hat (it might be sunny!)

Course Outline includes:

• Welcome and introduction
• Drawing and painting demonstrations in situ in the local area
  
• A short session on colour theory and colour mixing
• An introduction to the techniques of acrylic/oil painting as necessary
  
• How to create ideas for your paintings and compose them ready for painting
• Painting your picture together with lots of motivating and informative advice
• A plenary session, where each work will be considered individually by Paul who will offer expert commentary and advice

A light lunch plus is provided. MATERIALS ARE NOT PROVIDED on this course. Please bring your own Drawing and Painting materials. If you want Paul to supply all your materials please see Related Products below.

Accommodation is available at the Lion Inn, Leintwardine

This course uses acrylic paint, although if you may wish to use oil .

Suggested materials: A range of acrylic/oil brushes of various sizes and types e.g. Filbert No 5, Flat No 4, No 8, Round No 1 or No 2 and No 4. Colours: permanent rose, lemon yellow, ultramarine, titanium white, burnt umber, yellow ochre, cadmium yellow, possibly vermilion hue, permanent green and winsor blue. One acrylic painting pad minimum size A3, preferably 16 x 20 inches.

Course suitable for those with some experience and more advanced students
