What are ACADEMY Courses?

Academy courses are designed for those who wish go into a little more depth than is possible for one and two day courses. All Academy courses will follow the same basic plan.

  • Day 1: Introduction and demonstration of technques leading to practice, experimentation and developing understanding of colour mixing, drawing, painting techniques or whatever is relevant to a particular course.
  • Day 2: Using the techniques and ideas developed in day 1 students will create small finished pieces of work under the quidance of the tutor.
  • Day 3: Students aim to complete one larger piece of work from their own ideas or sketches. The tutor will take an advisory role rather than a lead role.

For the Beginners Courses rather more direction will be given on the first two days than for other courses.

The ACADEMY Exhibition

The Academy Exhibition will take place in The Gallery of the new Ludlow Library, Shropshire.

Dates: 1 November 2011 to 30 November 2011

Entry: Only students on the Academy Courses will be eligible to enter. Each student may enter up to 3 pieces of work in the exhibition, one of which must have been completed on the course.
Entry is free of charge.

Academy Courses are a great opportunity for those who have never exhibited before to have their work seen by the public. All work exhibited will need to be framed appropriately. All work displayed can be placed ON SALE and if sold the gallery will take a commission of 20% of the sale price.

Advice will be given about framing, pricing etc, if requested.

Imagine your work on exhibition, what a thrill that would be!
